About this opportunity

The New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department is inviting senior centers to apply for capital outlay funding for equipment and furnishings supporting senior center programming, with applications due October 28, 2026.

Eligible equipment includes congregate meal preparation systems, health and fitness and wellness equipment, senior center furnishings (tables, chairs), and recreation and activity equipment (billiard tables, game tables). All requested equipment must be capitalizable — a long-term asset owned and retained by the grantee. Applicants submit one Scope of Work and Deliverables Schedule Worksheet and one Project Budget and Funding Sources Worksheet per project, identifying the senior center facility, fiscal agent, project title, amount requested, total project cost, and project manager contact information.

Applicants must document all funding sources (local government or fiscal agent funds, tribal funds, state funds, federal funds, grants or donor funds, and other sources) and identify their status as secured or pending. The budget must align with supporting quotes and estimates, and must total the full project cost. Any remaining funding gaps or costs not included must be documented. An authorized representative of the fiscal agent certifies financial ability and willingness to manage the reimbursement-based funding process, including payment of allowable project costs before reimbursement is received, compliance with applicable procurement and fiscal requirements, submission of complete reimbursement requests with supporting documentation, and assumption of full responsibility for the amount requested. The fiscal agent must identify the fund or appropriation source used to pay allowable costs before reimbursement.

Applicants must document project milestones including notice to proceed or contract execution, preliminary and final deliverable submissions, permit or regulatory submissions if applicable, and overall project completion.
