About this opportunity
The Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction is requesting qualifications for an Architect/Engineer firm to design the Evans Library 6th Floor Renovation at Texas A&M University in College Station, with statements of qualifications due October 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Central Time via the e-Builder platform.
The scope transforms an outdated space into a modern, quiet study environment featuring a grand reading room, individual study rooms with natural light, open seating with varied furniture configurations, and upgraded infrastructure for power access and lighting. The project includes a temporary graduate lounge, removal of existing staff processing space and study carrels, and relocation of current collections to lower floors.
The planning amount is $17 million, with $12.27 million allocated as the Amount Available for Construction Contract (AACC), and the remainder for design fees, furnishings, other work, miscellaneous expenses, and contingencies. The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents is the owner.
Respondents must complete a State of Texas Subcontracting Plan (SP) form as part of their submission. The owner may select the top three or more ranked qualified respondents for interview presentations. All addendums will be posted exclusively within the e-Builder site. Questions should be directed to Oran Mikeal, Texas A&M University System Office of Facilities Planning & Construction, at (979) 933-9863 or omikeal@tamus.edu.
