About this opportunity

This is a sealed bid procurement for the Cheboygan-Otsego-Presque Isle Educational Service District (COPESD) Administration Building Project in Michigan, with jurisdiction spanning Chippewa County and Huntington Woods City. The project seeks separate prime contractors for four distinct construction bid divisions: Masonry (040000), Metals (050000), Roofing (075000), and Glass and Glazing (088000). Contractors may submit bids for individual divisions or combinations thereof. Wolgast Corporation is serving as the Construction Manager and Cornerstone as the Architect. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and project walk-through will be held on July 10, 2020, at 10:00 AM via Zoom, with in-person site visits permitted thereafter. Sealed bid proposals must be received by 2:00 PM local time on July 28, 2020, at the COPESD Administration Office, with public bid opening and reading occurring at 2:05 PM via Zoom. Contract awards to separate prime contractors are scheduled for August 13, 2020. All technical questions regarding bidding procedures, design, and specifications must be submitted using the Clarification Request Form directed to Luke Gerhart, with plan requests directed to Leona Ritthaler.

All bids must be accompanied by bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Base Bid from a qualified surety authorized to do business in Michigan, submitted as a Bid Bond, Cashier's Check, or Money Order; personal checks are not acceptable. Successful bidders may be required to furnish additional surety bonds as specified in project specifications. A critical requirement mandates that all bidders provide a sworn and notarized familial disclosure statement in compliance with MCL 380.1267, disclosing any family relationships between the bidder's owner or employees and members of the school board, intermediate school board, superintendent, or other designated officials; bids lacking this disclosure will not be accepted. Bids may not be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the bid date. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, accept a bid other than the low bid, and to waive any informalities, irregularities, or errors in proposals deemed in the Owner's best interest. The bidding documents are available electronically through Wolgast Corporation, and no specific budget range or award value is disclosed in the procurement announcement.
