About this opportunity

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is conducting a single-source procurement for an Advanced Microscopy Techniques Transmission Electron Microscope camera system to support research operations in Leon County, Florida. This procurement seeks a scientific-grade complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) camera system specifically designed to integrate with the agency's existing Transmission Electron Microscope model JEM 1400. The required equipment must meet exacting technical specifications, including a phosphor scintillator coupled macro lens with a numerical aperture exceeding 0.3, phosphor pixels of at least 8.5 micrometers, minimum resolution of 5000 x 2900 pixels, 16-bit image acquisition with 30 frames per second capability, and full compatibility with both Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems. The camera system must include comprehensive software for image acquisition and processing that supports auto-numbering, file generation, data embedding, and output in standard JPEG and TIFF formats, while also supporting SerialEM for tomography and particle analysis applications. Interested vendors must submit written information regarding their ability to supply the described commodities to Stephanie Keller Abbe, Research Associate with the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute, no later than Friday, May 8, 2026, at 4:00 PM ET. This is not a traditional solicitation for bids; rather, it is a single-source procurement notice published in accordance with Florida Statutes Sections 120.57(3) and 287.057(3), with the notice remaining available for a minimum of 15 business days to allow prospective vendors to demonstrate their capability to provide the equipment.

Advanced Microscopy Techniques (AMT) has been designated as the sole intended source for this procurement, identified as the exclusive distributor and only vendor capable of providing the NanoSprint15B camera system that meets all specified technical requirements and ensures compatibility with the existing JEM 1400 microscope platform. The single-source justification is based on the unique and specialized technical specifications of the required equipment and AMT's exclusive distribution rights. No set-asides or restrictions limiting responses to specific types of organizations, such as disadvantaged enterprises, have been identified in the procurement materials. All prospective vendors must warrant their capability to fully perform the contract requirements and demonstrate the integrity, reliability, and responsibility necessary for good-faith performance in accordance with Chapter 287 of the Florida Statutes and applicable laws. The estimated contract value for this procurement is up to $150,000, with a three-year contract term to be awarded to the selected vendor. Vendor selection will be based on demonstrated ability to meet the technical specifications and provide the required equipment and support services.
