About this opportunity
The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD), a Special Taxing District serving as a local government entity in Orange County, Florida, is soliciting a General Contractor through Invitation to Bid #C007018 to perform a dumpster pad expansion at the Administration Building located at 1900 Hotel Plaza Boulevard in Lake Buena Vista. The scope of work includes locating and identifying underground utility conflicts, performing selective demolition, coordinating irrigation system adjustments and restoration, constructing a new dumpster pad with concrete, grading, and fencing with gates, ensuring proper drainage, maintaining traffic control and job site protection, and restoring all disturbed areas to conditions equal to or better than existing conditions. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes as referenced in the project documentation. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at the parking lot area adjacent to the existing dumpster pad on the northeast side of the CFTOD Building, with prospective vendors required to RSVP through PlanetBids by May 14, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. and wear closed-toed shoes and pants. All bids must be submitted electronically through the PlanetBids platform, with a final due date of May 26, 2026. Vendors must register on the PlanetBids platform to submit questions, obtain supporting attachments, and submit bids, and inquiries may be directed to Sara Medina, Procurement Analyst, at (689) 246-5346.
The CFTOD encourages participation from local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses and offers bid preferences for these categories on most solicitations. The district has partnered with other governmental entities to provide registered vendors with access to additional governmental bid opportunities. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified in the available documentation, nor are specific award values or budget ranges disclosed in the bid materials. The project does not appear to have designated set-aside restrictions limiting competition to specific enterprise categories, though preference incentives are available for qualifying vendors. All procurement activities are conducted through the PlanetBids electronic bidding platform to ensure transparency and fairness in the competitive process.
