About this opportunity

The University of Massachusetts Building Authority (the "Authority") has issued Addendum No. 3 to its Request for Proposals (RFP) for Sports and Entertainment Organizations to Operate LeLacheur Park, located in Lowell, Massachusetts. The Authority is seeking a qualified proposer to operate the 4,797-seat sports and entertainment venue, with additional standing room capacity. The successful proposer will be responsible for facility operations, including field maintenance, building maintenance, and utilities management, with an estimated annual operating budget of $360,000. The Authority has pledged $3 million over the next five years to fund facility improvements, such as upgrades to emergency power, concourse concrete, emergency egress hardware, dugout chairlifts, and grandstand structural repairs. The selected proposer will be consulted on the prioritization of these facility upgrades and will be required to obtain the necessary liquor license to operate the venue.

The RFP is open to all qualified sports and entertainment organizations. There are no set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. The Authority has not identified any incumbent vendors or current contractors for the operation of LeLacheur Park. Proposers will be evaluated based on their experience, financial capability, and proposed approach to managing the facility. The deadline for submitting proposals is October 11, 2023.
