About this opportunity

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking bids for the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve North Boardwalk Reconstruction project, identified by bid number BDC02-25/26. This procurement involves a construction project focused on reconstructing a boardwalk within a national estuarine research reserve, located in Leon County, Florida. The bid is formally solicited through a competitive bidding process with specific submission requirements and deadlines. Interested contractors must submit sealed bids no later than 3:30 PM (ET) on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, directly to Alisha Sadler, Contracts Specialist, at the Bureau of Design and Construction in Tallahassee. The bid posting date is scheduled for no later than 3:30 PM (ET) on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, with the DEP reserving the right to reject any or all submitted bids. Contractors are required to acknowledge the addendum by signing the document and including it with their bid submission, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection.

While the provided documentation does not explicitly outline specific set-aside designations or restrictions on bidding organizations, the procurement appears to be a standard public works contract open to qualified construction contractors. The document does not specify precise award values or budget ranges for the boardwalk reconstruction project. The procurement is limited to the geographical jurisdiction of Leon County and involves a specialized infrastructure project within a national estuarine research reserve. Potential bidders should demonstrate technical capability, construction expertise, and experience with similar environmental infrastructure projects. The DEP's Bureau of Design and Construction will be responsible for evaluating and selecting the most appropriate contractor based on the submitted bid materials. While no incumbent vendors are mentioned, the project suggests a need for contractors with experience in environmental construction, specifically boardwalk reconstruction in sensitive ecological environments.
