Please note that the following RFI have been answered:
1. Question: There is a question regarding the 10'' Post embedment. In the general notes and specifications, it calls for the minimum embedment at 8' . In the sight elevation drawing it is showing a post embedment at 15'. Is there any specification on which way the posts are driven in? Butt down or tip down?
Answer: Minimum embedment is 8'. Piles should be driven tip down.
2. Question: The Tech. Spec. Book calls out TREX decking for the boardwalk. It does not specify if the decking thickness is 5/4" x 6" or 2" x 6". It also does not call out the color or product line.
Answer: Thickness is to be 2"x6". Bid should be based on product line Trex Transcend (square edged) and color Island Mist.
3. Question: Please clarify the depth of the pilings. Depth is shown as 8' in two areas at Detail H and the unidentified section detail in the center of the page. Detail 1 shows pile embedment as 15 feet.
Answer: Embedment depth is to be 8'.
4. Question: Please clarify pile spacing. Detail 1 shows a maximum of 6 feet, the unidentified detail at far-right center shows 10 feet, and the plans show 10 feet at most locations.
Answer: Pile spacing to be 10' O.C..
5. Question: Detail 1 Boardwalk Elevation shows a 1x12 composite cap board, but the unidentified section in the center shows a 2x6 composite board.
Answer: Cap Board for Non-ADA section should be 2"x8".
6. Question: Please confirm the width is 8'. The unidentified detail at far-right center shows 5' in one area for width, but just appears to be an error.
Answer: Confirmed that width is to be 8'.
7. Question: The top rail on the ADA viewing area, Detail 2, is PT 2" x 8". However, it appears there is a composite board attached to the top rail but there are no specifications for this board. There is a 12" composite cap board in the ADA Detail, does the rail post size change or is there a PT backer? Detail 1 refers to Detail 3 which is not shown, perhaps this detail would clarify these questions.
Answer: The composite board attached to the top rail should be 2"x8". There is a 2"x12" PT backer on the ADA viewing area. Reference in D1 should be "See Detail 2 on this page".
8. Question: Please identify the size of the top rail for the regular boardwalk sections (non-ADA viewing areas). The unidentified detail in the center of the page does not show the dimensions of this board.
Answer: Top Rail for non-ADA sections should match ADA section (2"x8").
In addition, a geotechnical report and two ADA viewing details are hereby incorporated into the bid package and supersedes any originally posted with the bid documents. The revised bid package including this report can be found at: https://publicfiles.dep.state.fl.us/DRP/BDC/BDC%20Public%20Files%20FY24-25/BDC09-24-25%20Grayton_Beach_-_Boardwalk_Replacement/.
In all other respects, the contract documents of which this is an Addendum, and attachments relative thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
