About this opportunity

Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT) is soliciting bids for unarmed security guard services at its Montgomery, Alabama facility, with a mandatory site visit on November 19, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. and bids due December 1, 2026. Attendance at the site visit is a bid eligibility condition: a bid from a supplier that does not attend will be rejected, and the State may schedule additional site visits if no responsive and responsible supplier attends.

The scope is one unarmed security officer on premises Monday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with occasional Friday coverage tied to training schedules. Duties include patrolling premises and parking areas, escorting employees and guests to vehicles, covering the front desk, disarming alarms by 3:00 p.m., securing the facility by 9:30 p.m., raising and lowering flags, checking student temperatures before entry, and operating radio equipment. Officers must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, and incident reports are due to AIDT within seven business days. Additional services may be requested outside established hours and locations at an hourly rate. The notice title and Agency Specifications describe security guard services, while the government description and the boilerplate reference janitorial services.

The initial term is 12 months, with four additional 12-month options, each contingent on written approval from the State and supplier at least 30 days before expiration. Award is all-or-none to the lowest responsible bidder meeting all specifications, and the CPO may apply cost realism and price reasonableness analysis. Payment is made only for hours worked and services rendered. Price increases are capped at the Consumer Price Index for the same period. Suppliers must submit a $2 million minimum liability certificate with $1 million per occurrence and the State of Alabama as certificate holder, with the certificate or letter of intent due with the bid. Three references are required from companies of equal or greater square footage. Suppliers must also provide E-Verify documentation, workers' compensation certificates if they employ five or more people, and a Vendor Disclosure Statement within ten days of award, and they must maintain active Alabama Buys registration.

Questions are due through Alabama Buys by November 25, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. An Intent to Award runs five calendar days before becoming final absent protests.
