About this opportunity

The Town of Monument, Colorado is soliciting bids for construction of concrete median improvements at the 2nd Street railroad crossing under IFB No. 26-010, with bids due September 4, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. local time through BidNet Direct. The project is driven by Federal Railroad Administration Quiet Zone compliance and BNSF standards requiring a continuous 6-inch curb height extending 100 feet from the railroad crossing arms.

The scope includes demolition of approximately 1,680 square feet of existing median; installation of 437 linear feet of concrete curb and gutter; placement of stamped decorative concrete median surface 6 inches thick; aggregate base course installation; asphalt patching; roadway restoration; mobilization; and construction traffic control at DOT Crossing No. 253076E. The bid schedule comprises eight line items covering concrete curb and gutter, asphalt patching, demolition and disposal, stamped median surface, aggregate base course, mobilization, traffic control, and force account/minor contract revisions (lump sum $5,000). Unit prices must include all labor, materials, excavation, removals, disposal, hauling, grading, compaction, testing, permits, equipment, overhead, and profit.

This is a Firm Fixed Price procurement. The Town expects to recommend contract award to Town Council by September 21, 2026. Site visits are encouraged; failure to visit does not relieve bidders of responsibility for project knowledge. Questions are due August 28, 2026 to Andrew Archuleta, Assistant Director of Public Works (aarchuleta@tomgov.org), with responses posted by September 1. Proposals are binding for 60 days following the deadline and become Town property subject to public disclosure under the Colorado Open Records Act. Award will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder meeting all requirements. The Town is tax-exempt and will provide a tax exemption certificate upon request.
