About this opportunity
Radford University is issuing an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Dedmon Center Scoreboard Improvements project, identified by Project Code 217-B4217-009, located in Radford, Virginia. The procurement involves the replacement of existing videoboards with new videoboards and the installation of two new scoreboards, along with associated electrical work. Sealed bids will be received electronically through eVA and at 215 University Drive, Radford, Virginia, with a strict deadline of 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud beginning at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024. While no pre-bid conference will be held, interested parties can arrange site visits by contacting the Radford University Project Manager, Wayne Hebb. The contract will be awarded on a lump sum basis to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, with the Total Base Bid Amount potentially including any properly submitted bid modifications and successive Additive Bid Items at the Owner's discretion. Contractor registration is required in accordance with Section 54.1-1103 of the Code of Virginia, and all vendors must be registered in the eVA system.
The solicitation does not specify any set-aside designations or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond to the bid. No information is provided about incumbent vendors or current contractors, and there are no explicit details about existing infrastructure or technology integration requirements. Initially, the IFB required a Bid Bond, but Addendum No. 002 removed this requirement, simplifying the bidding process. The Invitation for Bids documents, including plans and specifications, will be available for inspection at the Thompson and Litton, Inc. ShareFile Site and through the Radford University Project Manager. While no specific award values or budget ranges are listed in the documents, the project is funded by Radford University, and the Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The Notice of Award or Notice of Intent to Award will be posted on the eVA website, the Virginia Department of General Services' central electronic procurement platform.
