About this opportunity
Walker County Government, also referred to as Walker County Fire Rescue in LaFayette, Georgia, is soliciting proposals for five new custom Class A pumper apparatus under RFP 2026-011, with written questions due November 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EDT and proposals due November 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Used, refurbished, or previously titled equipment is unacceptable; apparatus must be new and of current design and manufacture.
Delivery is required within 365 calendar days of contract award, with liquidated damages of $200 per day for delays beyond that timeframe. Apparatus must be delivered under their own power and be fully operational and ready for immediate service. A qualified manufacturer representative must remain on-site for a minimum of three consecutive days following delivery to provide operational and maintenance training.
The County will conduct a minimum of two inspections at the manufacturer's expense, including travel and lodging for three County representatives. Pricing must be itemized by base apparatus, chassis, body, pump, booster tank, required equipment, freight and delivery, applicable taxes, optional equipment, trade-in allowances, discounts, extended warranties, service agreements, and total purchase price. The County is exempt from Federal Excise Tax and Georgia Sales and Use Tax and will retain 10 percent of each payment until final completion and acceptance.
Award will be based on best overall value, considering specification compliance, purchase price, warranty coverage, service support, parts availability, delivery schedule, manufacturer experience, quality and workmanship, and long-term maintenance considerations; cost alone will not determine the award. Responses to written inquiries will be published by November 10, 2026.
Successful proposers must execute E-Verify S.A.V.E. documentation and submit IRS Form W-9 with their proposals, and subcontractors must provide executed E-Verify affidavits. The County reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities, request clarification, negotiate pricing, and reject proposals containing material exceptions or false statements.
