About this opportunity
Bloomfield Township in Oakland County, Michigan, is seeking sealed proposals for the 2025 Safety Path Program, a construction project involving the grading and installation of approximately 3,323 linear feet of 5' wide concrete safety path along the north side of W Maple Road, between Franklin Road and Surrey Cross Road. The project encompasses comprehensive infrastructure development, including safety path construction, traffic control, tree and vegetation removals, landscaping, and site restoration. Bidders must obtain original bid documents from Hubbell, Roth & Clark, Inc. for a non-refundable fee of $120 for pickup or $140 for mailing, with document availability starting March 24, 2025. Proposals are due on April 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. local time at the Dave Payne Public Services Building, with a mandatory 5% bid bond or certified check accompanying each submission. Qualification requirements include providing three satisfactory municipal references for similar work completed in Michigan within the past two years, and all bidders must meet the Township's prequalification statement for contracts exceeding $50,000.
The procurement appears open to all qualified contractors without specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises. No incumbent vendors are identified in the documentation. Bidders must not have been debarred, suspended, or made ineligible by any Federal Agency, and the Township reserves the right to reject all bids and waive bidding irregularities. While no specific budget range is explicitly stated, the comprehensive nature of the infrastructure project suggests a substantial investment. Successful bidders will be required to furnish performance, labor and material, and maintenance bonds. The contract documents indicate that no bid may be withdrawn for at least 60 days after the bid opening, and the Township will carefully evaluate submissions based on compliance with specifications, qualifications, and the ability to successfully complete the safety path construction project.
