About this opportunity
Gilmer County is seeking sealed bids for the 2025 Asphalt Road Resurfacing Services, specifically targeting two county roads: CR-87 Orchard Lane (1.40 miles) and CR-93/92 Orchard Lane (0.60 miles). The procurement opportunity requires contractors to furnish labor, materials, and equipment to complete road resurfacing using 12.55 mm Superpave asphalt. The project will follow Georgia Department of Transportation Standard Specifications from the 2001 Edition, including supplemental specifications and contract provisions. Bid documents are available from the Gilmer County Public Works Office and the Board of Commissioners Office, with contact information provided for Ryan Steingruber, Director of Public Works. The bid submission deadline is August 7, 2025, at 2:00 PM local time, with bids to be opened and publicly read at the Commissioners Office located at 822 Industrial Blvd., Suite 200, Ellijay, Georgia 30540. The county reserves the right to reject non-responsive bids, accept partial bids, and make awards deemed in the best interest of the county.
While the contract opportunity does not explicitly mention set-aside designations or specific vendor restrictions, Gilmer County indicates flexibility in awarding the contract. The county may award the bid to a single bidder or multiple bidders, and retains the option to award the whole bid, part of the bid, or no bid at all. No specific budget range or award value is specified in the documentation. The procurement does not highlight incumbent vendors or provide details about existing infrastructure requirements. Interested bidders should carefully review the full bid package available from the county offices and be prepared to meet the Georgia Department of Transportation's standard specifications. Potential contractors should note the county's broad discretion in bid evaluation and award, which suggests a comprehensive review process focused on identifying the most advantageous proposal for the road resurfacing project.
