About this opportunity

The City of Thomasville, Georgia is soliciting sealed bids for the 2023 Remington Avenue Streetscape improvement project, with bids due August 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the City Engineer's Office — Addendum 3 updated the deadline from the original June 27 date. The prime bidder must be a prequalified Georgia Department of Transportation contractor, a hard eligibility requirement.

The scope encompasses comprehensive streetscape improvements to Remington Avenue and Kern Street from Smith Avenue to East Pinetree Boulevard, including roadway resurfacing, curb and gutter installation, roundabout construction, stormwater drainage systems, water main replacement, sewer rehabilitation, electrical conduit work, landscaping, irrigation systems, site furnishings, and traffic signal installation. The project carries a maximum performance period of 720 days from commencement, with liquidated damages applying thereafter; completion in fewer than 660 days triggers incentive payments to the contractor.

Bids must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to not less than 10 percent of the bid amount. Upon award, the successful bidder must submit separate payment and performance bonds each for 100 percent of the contract amount. Bids remain firm for 60 days following the submission deadline.

Bidders must acknowledge receipt of all addenda (Addendum 1 through Addendum 5 have been issued) in Section 00410 of the bid form; failure to do so results in disqualification. Complete bid documents are obtained from Kimley-Horn, and bidders must be on record as having purchased and received the complete set for their proposals to be considered.
