About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to the 2023 Remington Avenue Streetscape Improvement project issued by the City of Thomasville, Georgia on June 22, 2023. The addendum updates the bid submission deadline to July 27, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. local time at the City Engineer's Office, 411 West Jackson Street, Thomasville, Georgia. The project encompasses streetscape improvements to Remington Avenue and Kern Street from Smith Avenue to East Pinetree Boulevard, including resurfacing, curb and gutter installation, roundabout construction, landscaping, stormwater improvements, water main replacements, and sewer rehabilitation. Questions regarding the project must be submitted to remington@kimley-horn.com no later than 5:00 P.M. on July 13, 2023. The project completion timeline has been established with a maximum of 720 days from the Project Commencement Date, after which liquidated damages will apply. If completed in fewer than 660 days, the City will pay incentive payments to the Contractor. Acknowledgment of receipt of this addendum must be provided in Section 00410 of the bid form, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bidder disqualification.
The addendum provides critical clarifications and plan updates essential to bid preparation, including replacement of the Maintenance of Traffic plans, removal of inapplicable general notes regarding vertical clearance and monitoring warranty language, updates to the driveway at the northeast corner of the Kern Street/Remington Avenue roundabout, and clarification that sewer services must be reconstructed to the right-of-way line rather than lined. Additional specifications address stormwater pipe connections, clarify that roadway reconstruction costs in storm pipe areas are included in the linear foot price, confirm all 12-inch pipe will be HDPE rather than RCP, and update the widening detail to require Class B Widening for widening of five feet or less between existing asphalt and new curb. CAD files are available upon request with signed release documentation. All sampling, testing, and inspection shall comply with Section 00720 and GDOT STI Documents, with documentation submitted to the City of Thomasville and payment made under the appropriate cost codes.
