About this opportunity
The Town of Fairfield, Connecticut, through its Department of Public Works (DPW), is seeking competitive bids for the 2023-69 Stair Repair/Replacement project at its Transfer Station Facility located at 530 Richard White Way. The procurement is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for qualified contractors to provide comprehensive labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to repair and replace existing metal stairs. The primary objective is to upgrade the replacement stairs to current OSHA standards while maintaining the same configuration as the existing infrastructure. A non-mandatory pre-bid site meeting is scheduled for October 27, 2022, at 1:00 PM, which prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. The vendor Q&A period runs from October 21, 2022, to November 1, 2022, and sealed bids are due by November 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM EST. Contractors must demonstrate the capability to execute the stair repair and replacement work while adhering to safety standards and maintaining the current structural layout of the stairs.
The solicitation does not specify any set-aside designations, disadvantaged enterprise requirements, or restrictions on the types of organizations that can respond. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are mentioned in the documentation. The procurement appears to be open to all qualified vendors capable of meeting the project specifications. Additionally, the solicitation does not provide an estimated total value, budget range, or specific funding sources for the project. The delivery terms are specified as Free On Board Destination, with payment terms to be determined by the vendor. The procurement documents suggest a comprehensive, lump-sum pricing approach, with vendors expected to provide a complete bid that covers all aspects of the stair repair and replacement work at the Transfer Station Facility.
