About this opportunity
The State of Maine, Division of Purchases, is requesting quotations for 2011 Yamaha X model snowmobiles meeting or exceeding specified performance standards under the Mt Blue project, with quotes due February 28, 2011 by 2:00 p.m. local time.
Tie bids are resolved in favor of in-state bidders or those offering Maine-produced commodities. All quotes must be submitted electronically through the official online portal; questions must be submitted through the designated Q&A link and are posted publicly for vendor review. Alternative commodity proposals are permitted if accompanied by complete identification and descriptive literature.
Awards will be made to the lowest responsible bidder offering best value to the state, with evaluation considering quality, conformity to specifications, purpose, delivery date, and ultimate cost. The state reserves the right to award on an item-by-item basis or as a group, whichever serves its best interest, and may increase or decrease quantities by up to 10% unless otherwise stated. Unit prices govern in cases of discrepancy between unit and total prices.
All transportation charges, including freight and express costs, must be prepaid by the contractor unless otherwise specified. The state is exempt from federal and Maine state sales and use taxes; quotes should exclude these amounts. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in determining the low bidder; discounts under 20 days are not considered. All deliveries must comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Contractors must furnish items exactly as specified; deviation may result in rejection. All hazardous chemicals supplied must include current material safety data sheets as required by Maine law.
Maine state statute 9-A MRSA 8-303(2) prohibits sellers from imposing surcharges on cardholder purchases made with credit or debit cards in lieu of cash or check payment. The state reserves the right to process payment through check, Electronic Funds Transfer, or procurement card.
