About this opportunity
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is issuing an Invitation to Bid (ITB) for a two-year general maintenance contract covering various ODOT facilities across five districts in Ohio. The contract will establish multiple awards to responsive bidders to provide labor, materials, and equipment for improvements, maintenance, and emergency repair services at 141 locations in 27 counties. The scope of work may include building system repairs, concrete work, roofing, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. Bidders must have a minimum of 5 years' experience providing similar public improvement and emergency maintenance services. ODOT will pay the actual cost of materials and supplies utilized, plus a vendor markup not to exceed 15%. Prevailing wage rates will apply for projects exceeding the applicable thresholds. Bids are due by October 15, 2024, and must be submitted using ODOT's provided Excel pricing template.
The ITB is open to all qualified general contractors, and ODOT will make multiple awards to ensure adequate coverage across the geographic regions. The contract will allow eligible political subdivisions, state universities, and other agencies to participate through ODOT's Cooperative Purchasing Program. The current contract environment and any incumbent vendors are not specified. While the ITB does not mention any set-aside designations, bidders must comply with various state and federal laws, including those related to non-discrimination and equal employment opportunity. The total contract value is not provided, but the pricing structure allows for pass-through of material costs plus a markup.
