About this opportunity
The State of Maine is requesting sealed bids for a one-year contract to supply 52 split beam torque wrenches, with bids due August 14, 2008. In case of tie bids, preference is given to in-state bidders or those offering commodities produced or manufactured in Maine.
The wrenches must be split beam design with a measuring range of 200–600 foot-pounds, square drive configuration, approximately 48 inches in overall length, and a scale graduated in 10 foot-pound increments. All units must be constructed entirely of steel, finished in nickel or chrome plating, and capable of measuring torque from either left or right-hand application. The split beam design must remain slack when stored. Compliance with ANSI B107.14M and GGG-W-686C standards is required. A minimum one-year warranty covering workmanship and materials is mandatory.
Bids must be submitted as sealed responses to the Division of Purchases, Room 119, 9 State House Station, State Office Building, Augusta, Maine. Bidders must submit separate unit prices for each item with all prices including transportation charges, trade discounts, and quantity discounts delivered to destination. The State reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive formalities and technicalities, and award to the lowest responsible bidder based on best value considerations including quality, conformity with specifications, delivery date, and ultimate cost. Cash discounts of 20 days or more are considered in determining the low bidder; discounts under 20 days will not be evaluated. The State is exempt from Federal and Maine State Sales and Use Taxes. The Division reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities by up to 10%. Manufacturers, importers, suppliers, or distributors of hazardous chemicals must provide current Material Safety Data Sheets as required by Maine's Chemical Substance Identification Law.
