About this opportunity

The Department of Health and Human Services, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is offering a supplemental funding opportunity under the "Strengthening Public Health Systems and Services through National Partnerships to Improve and Protect the Nation's Health" program (CFDA 93.421). This funding will support capacity-building assistance (CBA) activities for organizations previously awarded under Funding Strategy 1 of the initial CDC-RFA-PW-24-0080 opportunity. Eligible applicants include state/local/tribal governments and non-profit organizations. Proposals must align with the population of focus category and description from the recipient's initial award. CBA activities should focus on areas such as organizational capacity, workforce, data modernization, partnerships, and policy/programs. Applications are due by August 26, 2024.

The total supplemental funding available is approximately $228 million. Individual project plans range from $125,000 to $1 million, with expected project lengths of 1 year. The funding is intended to support a variety of public health initiatives, including hurricane recovery efforts, emergency response training, workforce development, and data modernization, among others.
