About this opportunity
The Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration is offering approximately $19 million in grant funding for the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) Optional Demonstration Grants on Sector-Based Training for Low-Income Older Adult Workers. The grants will fund sector-based occupational training, on-the-job training, career navigation, and supportive services to increase job readiness, employment, and earnings for low-income older adult SCSEP participants. Eligible applicants include state/local governments, nonprofits, higher education institutions, and tribal organizations. The Department plans to conduct a rigorous four-year evaluation to measure the impact of the sector-based training on employment outcomes, and the closing date for receipt of applications is June 10, 2024.
The grant funding will be awarded as up to six demonstration grants ranging from $2 million to $5 million each. The demonstration projects will run for up to 48 months, with a 3-6 month planning period and participant enrollment concluding by month 36. Current SCSEP National grantees that apply for the optional Sector Training Demonstration Grants and are selected for a PY 2024 SCSEP National Grant are eligible to receive the demonstration grant funding.
