About this opportunity
The Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration seeks applications for optional demonstration grants on sector-based training for low-income older adult workers through the Senior Community Service Employment Program. Eligible applicants include state and local governments, tribal organizations, nonprofits and higher education institutions. The purpose is to provide training for unemployed seniors through community service and work-based job training. Applications are due March 31, 2024. Evaluation will consider applicants' plans to provide sector-based training opportunities for eligible participants that lead to unsubsidized employment in sectors with growth potential.
Potential awards are not specified in dollar amounts. The program is intended to fund projects that create opportunities for eligible low-income persons age 55 and older to participate in temporary work-based training and service assignments. Projects should be designed to transition participants into unsubsidized employment.
