About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is soliciting cooperative agreement applications to develop, implement, and promote effective injury and violence prevention practices, with an application deadline of September 30, 2030, under CFDA 93.136 (Injury Prevention and Control Research and State and Community Based Programs). Only one application per eligible state or territory will be funded.
Eligible applicants include U.S. state governments or their bona fide agents, territorial governments or their bona fide agents, local governments or their bona fide agents, state-controlled institutions of higher education, American Indian or Alaska Native tribal governments, universities, county governments, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. Applicants applying as a bona fide agent must provide legal binding agreement documentation from the sponsoring state, territory, or local government. Funded recipients must have access to state or territory-wide data sources.
No cost share or matching requirement is stated. Typical annual award amounts range from $350,000 to $700,000. Financial assistance provides funding for a 12-month initial budget period with a performance period of up to five years, contingent on fund availability and satisfactory recipient progress.
Applications undergo a two-phase review process. Phase I evaluates eligibility and completeness; non-responsive applications are eliminated before Phase II. Phase II assesses approach, evaluation and performance measurement, and the applicant's organizational capacity to implement the approach. Research and non-research applications are reviewed on scientific and technical merit, considering clarity of purpose, personnel qualifications, feasibility of producing meaningful results, alignment with national health priorities, and budget reasonableness.
Performance location is at the recipient's site with potential nationwide implementation through local partnerships and coordination with national organizations and state health agencies.
