About this opportunity
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is soliciting applications for injury and violence prevention cooperative agreements under CFDA 93.136 with a deadline of September 30, 2030. Eligible applicants are limited to state governments, local governments, county governments, city or township governments, special districts, state-controlled higher education institutions, and tribal governments, with only one application funded per eligible state or territory. Funded recipients must have access to state or territory-wide data sources.
Awards provide 12-month initial budget periods with performance periods up to five years subject to fund availability and satisfactory progress. Historical award amounts for cooperative agreements range from $350,000 to $1.4 million annually, though awards overall span $150,000 to $7.5 million depending on program track. The program funds injury and violence prevention initiatives including child abuse prevention, sexual violence prevention, firearm-related violence reduction, and overdose prevention.
The review process consists of Phase I screening for eligibility and completeness, followed by Phase II panel evaluation assessing approach, evaluation and performance measurement capabilities, organizational capacity, scientific merit, personnel qualifications, feasibility, alignment with national health priorities, and budget reasonableness. Non-competitive continuation awards are available after initial funding based on satisfactory performance.
Recipients must maintain records for three years beyond project completion and comply with 2 CFR 200 requirements. Applicants applying as bona fide agents of a state, territory, or local government must provide legal documentation of that status.
