About this opportunity

The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration is providing Fiscal Year 2024 funding allotments and instructions for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Section 166 Indian and Native American (INA) Programs. This includes the Comprehensive Services Program (CSP) and Supplemental Youth Services Program (SYSP). The total funding available is $59,400,000 for the CSP and $14,161,107 for the SYSP. Eligible applicants include federally recognized tribal governments, tribal organizations, and other entities serving American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian populations. Applications must be submitted through Grants.gov within 30 days of the guidance letter's issue date on June 12, 2024. The agency will use a hold-harmless or phase-in approach to adjust funding allocations over a three-year period based on updated U.S. Census data.

The funding is intended to support employment, training, and workforce development services that develop the academic, occupational, and literacy skills of Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals, making them more competitive in the workforce. Services may include comprehensive career services, follow-up support, skills training, counseling, and other workforce development activities directly delivered by the grant recipients.
