About this opportunity
The Federal Transit Administration is soliciting applications for the All Stations Accessibility Program grant to fund capital projects and planning efforts that repair, improve, modify or retrofit infrastructure at existing rail stations to comply with ADA accessibility standards. Eligible applicants are designated recipients of Section 5307, 5310 or 5311 urbanized area formula funds that operate legacy rail systems, or state and local entities supporting such systems. Proposals are due January 30, 2024 and will be evaluated based on need, benefits, financial commitment, implementation strategy, and consistency with local planning. Awarded projects must increase accessibility for people with disabilities, including wheelchair users, at pre-ADA rail stations and facilities.
Approximately $343 million is available nationally through competitive awards. Funded projects will repair, modify or renovate infrastructure at legacy rail stations to make passenger areas fully accessible. Successful applicants will receive grant agreements following announcement of award decisions in Spring 2024, and must perform work to upgrade accessibility within their existing rail networks.
