About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command, through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, is soliciting applications for clinical trials addressing ovarian cancer treatment and management, with a pre-application deadline of September 15, 2026 and a full application deadline of October 1, 2026. The CDMRP expects to allot approximately $5.6 million to fund roughly two Clinical Trial Award applications. Each award carries a cost ceiling of $2.8 million over a maximum period of performance of four years, with no cost-share requirement. Awards will be made no later than September 30, 2027, using FY26 funds expiring September 30, 2032.
Eligible applicants include extramural and intramural Department of War organizations, including foreign and domestic entities, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and public or private entities. The program supports rapid implementation of clinical trials evaluating promising new products, pharmacologic agents, devices, clinical guidance, and emerging approaches for ovarian cancer treatment or management, ranging from small proof-of-concept trials through large-scale efficacy trials.
Applications require a two-step submission process: pre-applications through eBRAP (due September 15, 2026) and full applications through either Grants.gov (extramural) or eBRAP (intramural DOW organizations) by October 1, 2026. Applicants must include preliminary data, demonstrated access to the study population and intervention, and two or more ovarian cancer consumer advocates who are survivors or living with ovarian cancer. The clinical trial must begin no later than 12 months after award, or 18 months for FDA-regulated studies.
All funded trials must register on ClinicalTrials.gov and post informed consent forms on federal websites. Peer review is scheduled for November 2026 and programmatic review for January 2027. Selection criteria include clinical impact, trial strategy and feasibility, recruitment and retention plans, regulatory strategy, statistical rigor, ethical considerations, and personnel qualifications.
The opportunity falls under CFDA 12.420, Military Medical Research and Development.
Synopsis
Summary: The OCRP Clinical Trial Award supports the rapid implementation of clinical trials with the potential to have a significant impact on the treatment or management of ovarian cancer.
Distinctive Features: Clinical trials may be designed to evaluate promising new products, pharmacologic agents (drugs or biologics), devices, clinical guidance and/or emerging approaches and technologies. Proposed projects may range from small proof-of-concept trials (e.g., pilot, first-in-human, phase 0) to demonstrate the feasibility or inform the design of more advanced trials through large-scale trials to determine efficacy in relevant patient populations.
