About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 2 is conducting market research for comprehensive well water system maintenance and management services at the Northport VA Medical Center in Northport, New York. The agency seeks a qualified contractor to provide quarterly preventative maintenance for five well houses, booster pumps, air stripping towers, and water treatment systems, including oil testing, vibration testing, control checks, and annual water quality reporting. All operators must possess valid New York State licensing, and the contractor must provide 24/7 emergency response capabilities within two hours of notification. Interested vendors must submit capability statements by July 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET, including their size status, federal contract number, expertise, certifications, licensing, and SAM Unique Entity ID. The opportunity falls under NAICS code 221310 (Water Supply and Irrigated Systems) with a size standard of $41.0 million, and the VA will use this market research to determine the appropriate set-aside designation for the subsequent solicitation.
This pre-solicitation notice indicates no set-aside designation has been determined, as the market research will inform the VA's decision on the appropriate procurement strategy. The contract includes a base period from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026, with four additional option years, potentially extending the total contract performance through August 31, 2030. No current incumbent contractors or specific award values are mentioned in the notice, though the NAICS size standard of $41.0 million provides context for the scale of eligible contractors. The scope encompasses five well houses requiring quarterly maintenance, two air stripping towers, and various water treatment equipment including chlorine pumps, chlorination motors, lime mixers, and blowers that require twice-monthly continuous maintenance. The contractor must also provide annual inspections of tanks, electric motors, and gear drives, along with consultation services regarding New York State and local regulations.
