About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the Network Contracting Office NC02 and Canandaigua VA Medical Center, has issued a Special Notice announcing their intent to award a sole source contract for emergency roof repair in Building 3 at the Canandaigua VAMC. The procurement is being conducted under FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), which allows for a single source when no other supplier can satisfy agency requirements. The contract will be awarded to Serviam, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), for a Firm Fixed Price construction project. The roof repair is critically needed due to severe damage and compromised structural conditions. The project is categorized under NAICS code 236220 with a small business size standard of $45 million.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to repair the damaged roof immediately and ensure the facility's structural integrity. Potential contractors have until Friday, May 23, at 12 noon ET to submit their capabilities information, which will be used to determine whether the procurement should remain sole source or be opened to competition. The VA emphasizes that all submitted information will be provided at no cost and without obligation to the government. Eligibility for participation is open, though the VA retains sole discretion in deciding whether to maintain the sole source approach. Interested parties must submit all inquiries via email to Idalia Algarin, using the subject line "RFQ 36C24225Q0635 EMERGENCY ROOF REPAIRS - CANANDAIGUA VAMC". Currently, no solicitation is available, and the contract will be awarded directly to Serviam, who is already on-site performing similar work.
