About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration (VA) is seeking qualified contractors for a renovation project at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VAMC in Jackson, Mississippi. The project involves converting approximately 9,593 square feet of former Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy space into a new Inventory Management space through an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Fixed Price contract. Interested firms must submit a three-page response demonstrating their capabilities, including their ability to self-perform 15% of the work and obtain performance and payment bonds. The VA is conducting market research to identify potential contractors, with responses due by March 27, 2025, via email to Victor McNair. Evaluation will focus on firms' qualifications, small business status, and capacity to perform various trade disciplines including carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, asbestos abatement, painting, demolition, and mechanical work.
The procurement is specifically set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), with a secondary consideration for other small businesses if no SDVOSB/VOSB firms are suitable. The project is classified under NAICS code 236220 (Commercial and Institutional Building Construction) with a size standard of $45 million. The estimated project value ranges between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000, with task orders varying in size and scope. Contractors must be verified through the SBA's veterans certification system and prepared to handle multiple trade-related tasks. The VA will use the responses to determine the potential future solicitation's set-aside requirements, with no guarantee of a subsequent contract issuance.
