About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 17 is conducting market research to identify potential providers for climate-controlled storage services for a Siemens MAGNETOM Sola 1.5T MRI System at the Fort Worth VA Outpatient Clinic. The agency seeks a storage solution with a specialized CRYO farm capable of maintaining precise temperature and helium levels for the MRI magnet, located within 50 miles of the clinic. Interested businesses must submit a detailed response by June 11th, 2025, at 11:00 AM CST, including company information, business size, capability statements, and federal contract details. Evaluation criteria will focus on the company's ability to provide specialized storage services, comply with technical requirements, and demonstrate expertise in handling sensitive medical equipment. Respondents must provide information about their business classification, current federal contracts, and capability to meet the draft Statement of Work's specifications.

The solicitation is open to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, Veteran Owned Small Businesses, SBA Section 8(a) firms, Women-Owned, and other socio-economically disadvantaged small businesses under NAICS code 493110 for General Warehousing and Storage, with a $34M size standard. The contract includes a base storage period of 6 months, with two potential 6-month extension options, covering comprehensive services such as rigging, transportation, and specialized climate-controlled storage for the 4.2-ton MRI system. While no specific award value is mentioned, the storage solution will require precise handling, including offloading the magnet, maintaining critical temperature and helium levels, and ultimately transporting the equipment to its final installation location. The solicitation emphasizes the need for contractor personnel to be licensed and trained to work with the specialized medical equipment, and requires compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications.
