About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 6 is seeking a succeeding lease for administrative office space to house the Mirecc Admin facility in Durham, North Carolina. The VA requires between 9,900 and 12,900 rentable square feet of administrative space within a specific delineated area bounded by North Medford Rd to Front Street, East Hillandale Rd to Croasdaile Dr, South Croasdaile Dr to Cole Mill Rd, and West Cole Mill Rd to Medford Rd. All services, supplies, utilities, and tenant alterations must be provided as part of the rental consideration, with occupancy required on or before February 1, 2026. The VA will evaluate potential alternatives by considering relocation costs, tenant improvements, and overall economic benefits when determining whether to relocate the facility. Expressions of interest must be submitted to Lease Contracting Officer Ricky Farr at ricky.farr@va.gov by August 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM EST.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is structured as a potential sole-source acquisition with the current lessor located at 3022 Croasdaile Drive, Durham, NC 27705, whose current lease expires January 31, 2026. The lease term will span 20 years, consisting of a 5-year firm fixed price period followed by 15 additional one-year soft terms. While the VA is interested in considering alternative space if economically advantageous, they indicate an intent to pursue the sole-source lease acquisition with the incumbent lessor unless a more cost-effective option emerges. The agency will factor in moving costs, tenant improvements, and other relocation expenses when making the final determination on whether to relocate the Mirecc facility. No specific budget range or award value has been disclosed in the notice.
