About this opportunity
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking potential contractors for a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Demobilization project in Louisiana. The Request for Information (RFI) aims to assess contractors' capabilities for decommissioning WWTP facilities in Houma and Cut Off, which involves comprehensive electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components removal. Interested vendors must respond by March 14, 2025, at 10:00 AM Central Standard Time, submitting their ability to provide a quote, anticipated response timeline, and business details. The RFI specifically requests non-proprietary information, including the company's North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 237110, business name, Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), and business size. Respondents should email their submissions to jasmine.masterkatrak@fema.dhs.gov, understanding that this RFI does not guarantee a future contract and that all submission costs are the responsibility of the interested parties.
The opportunity is designated as a Local Area Set-Aside, indicating potential preference for local or regional contractors. While no specific award value is disclosed, the project involves detailed demobilization work including removing interconnecting equipment, chlorinating and cleaning tanks, disconnecting electrical systems, and palletizing components for shipment to Selma, Alabama. The scope of work suggests a complex, multi-step decommissioning process that will require specialized construction and infrastructure expertise. Responses will likely be evaluated based on technical capability, response time, and alignment with the specified NAICS code for water and sewer line construction. The project appears to be part of FEMA's broader emergency response and recovery efforts, potentially related to recent infrastructure challenges or disaster recovery in Louisiana.
