About this opportunity

Air Combat Command seeks a Wrong Way Detection/Reverse Entry Alert System with installation and five-year extended warranty for the 366 Security Forces Squadron at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, with offers due June 29, 2026. This is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS 561621 (Security Systems Services) with a size standard of $25 million in annual revenue or 600 employees.

Place of performance is Mountain Home AFB, Idaho 83648. The system must detect all vehicle types—cars, trucks, cargo vans, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles—entering outbound lanes in the wrong direction through lanes 1 and 2, operating 24/7 in all weather conditions. The Government will accept camera-based systems (though not preferred) or non-Dobbler radar systems; standard radars are unacceptable. Wire-free detectors with wireless connectivity to an exterior siren and interior visual "WRONG WAY" display (minimum 7 inches high by 34 inches wide by 2.5 inches deep) are required. The contractor must provide detection accuracy metrics, false/nuisance alarm rates, and response times; the Government has not established specific performance thresholds and will evaluate these subjectively during acceptance. The system must detect wrong-way entries at the second turnaround area and maintain operational availability throughout the warranty period with defined repair response times. Infrastructure and integration details indicate power is available inside the gatehouse; mounting occurs on the gate facility itself with no additional support posts required. Wireless or RF communication protocols require coordination with the Communications Squadron for approval. The system is standalone with no connection to Air Force communications systems and does not require Authorization to Operate.

Delivery and installation must occur between July 1 and September 30, 2026. A mandatory site visit is scheduled for June 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM MDT with RSVP required by June 17, 2026. Questions are due June 22, 2026. Amendment 0001 (effective June 10, 2026) requires acknowledgment prior to the solicitation deadline. Evaluation criteria are Technical Capability, Price, and Past Performance. The contractor must obtain necessary security clearances, antiterrorism training, and compliance with all base security procedures and OPSEC requirements.
