The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking proposals for the Wildcat Burned Fence BAR project to replace approximately 8.4 miles of wildfire-damaged barbed wire fence in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada. AMENDMENT 0002 - 05/31/2024 - The purpose of this amendment is to document the site visit, provide a roster of attendees, provide answers to questions asked and attach additional information that will help contractors better prepare their proposals. Revised plans are also attached and will replace existing plans. The offer due date remains 06/17/2024. 

AMENDMENT 0001 - 05/09/2024 - The purpose of this amendment is to revise the site visit time to 9AM from 10AM (date remains the same) and to give notice to proposees regarding travel to the project site. See Amendment for details.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The intent of this project is to replace wildfire-impacted barbwire fence line damaged by the 2022 Wildcat Fire in the Ruby Mountains, Mountain City, Jarbidge Ranger District.


PROJECT LOCATION: From Wells, NV head north on US-93 for 40.9 miles. Turn left onto Oneil Basin Road and continue for 33 miles to reach the wildcat fire. The fence lines to be replaced are on the northwest perimeter of the fire. Total drivetime is about 2 hours and 18 minutes from Wells, NV. Lat/Long: 41.639914, -115.300704 UTMs: 641525, 4611192

MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: BETWEEN $250,000 AND $500,000.
