About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management Colorado Region seeks to purchase 14,200 rounds of factory-new small arms ammunition across nine calibers for the Wild Horse and Burro Program, with proposals due July 9 at 1300 ET. The procurement is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business set-aside, restricting competition to SDVOSB firms.
Place of performance is Grand Junction, Colorado (2815 H Rd). The NAICS code is 332992 (Small Arms Ammunition Manufacturing) with a 1,300-employee size standard. Period of performance runs from July 15 through September 30, 2026.
All ammunition must be new production, commercially manufactured, and conform to SAAMI standards. Hollow-point or expanding projectile designs are mandatory; full metal jacket, round nose, total metal jacket, and flat nose non-expanding rounds are strictly prohibited. Required line items include 3,000 rounds of .22 LR (36–40 grain CPHP), 4,000 rounds of .22 Mag (40 grain JHP), 2,000 rounds of 9mm (147 grain JHP), 600 rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor (140 grain ELD-X), 600 rounds of .270 (150 grain PP), 600 rounds of 7mm (150 grain PP), 400 rounds of .243 (100 grain BTSP), 2,000 rounds of .30-06 (180 grain BTSP), and 1,000 rounds of .308 (165 grain ISP). Ammunition must arrive in original sealed boxes and be delivered to the BLM office in Grand Junction with 48 hours' advance written notice.
This is a firm-fixed-price acquisition under FAR Parts 12 and 13. Evaluation weighs technical acceptability as mandatory; past performance and vendor reputation serve as an informational tiebreaker; price determines award among technically acceptable quotes. Quotes must remain valid through August 15, 2026.
