About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Materiel Command Mission and Installation Contracting Command Fort Eustis is soliciting capability statements by July 27, 2026 for restoration and relocation of two historically significant cannons from the West Point US Military Academy Visitor's Center; this is a Request for Information with no pricing required.
Work is performed at West Point, a federal military installation. The contractor must remove both cannons from the Visitor's Center elevator, transport them to a contractor-operated facility in Newburgh, perform blast cleaning, and apply a three-stage coating system consisting of zinc prime coating, Macropoxy 646, and Poly 250 final coat. The contractor fabricates two steel handling fixtures, transports the finished cannons to Dobco at Goethals Hall upon West Point's notification of readiness for installation, and securely binds them for transport. A critical requirement is preservation of all historic elements and original appearance throughout restoration.
The work scope also includes ancillary portable restroom services during the cannon renovation project: waste tank emptying on a Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday schedule, and twice-weekly interior cleaning with restocking of soap and paper supplies.
The contractor must report all manpower utilized on this contract through the Army Contractor Manpower Reporting Application at https://cmra.army.mil/. The NAICS code is 332312 (Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing); PSC code is H179 (Quality Control—Cleaning Equipment and Supplies). Interested firms should submit a capability statement to the listed Point of Contact.
