About this opportunity

The Federal Highway Administration is preparing to solicit work for Olympic National Park embankment and road repair on Road 107 in Jefferson County, Washington, with a tentative solicitation release in Fall 2026 or Winter 2027. No set-aside is anticipated.

The project is located approximately 26 miles southeast of Forks, Washington, spanning 0.12 miles on Road 107 at mileposts 0.3 to 0.5 and 0.8. The scope includes bank stabilization, riprap placement (790 cubic yards of Class 4 riprap and 260 cubic yards of Class 5 riprap), engineered log jams with dolosse, placement of 80 boulders, clearing and grubbing (1,400 square yards), six root wads, soil erosion and sediment control, turf establishment, mulching, and temporary stream diversion. Two schedule options are available: Schedule A includes four engineered log jams with dolosse; Schedule B includes four textured engineered log jams with dolosse. Work will follow FP-24 specifications in US customary units.

The estimated contract value ranges between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000, with a fixed completion date targeted for Fall 2027. The project is funded under the Emergency Relief for Outstanding (ERFO) program.

Prospective bidders are encouraged to view the project site as weather conditions permit and monitor the Olympic National Park website for current road conditions, as winter solicitation release may limit site access. No Federal Highway Administration personnel will be available for site tours. Technical questions should be directed to wfl.plansspec@dot.gov; general inquiries to wfl.contracts@dot.gov or 360-619-7520. Preliminary plans and project description are attached. Bidders should monitor SAM.gov for the actual solicitation release and use the "Follow" feature for automatic notifications.
