About this opportunity

The Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal is conducting market research for production of an Airflow Valve (NSN 4240-01-055-1493, Part No. 5-19-6136) and seeks vendor responses to a sources-sought survey by 12:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on May 27, 2026. This is not a formal solicitation; the Government is gathering information on industry capability and acquisition strategy viability after a prior solicitation received no responses.

The airflow valve is a subcomponent of Gas Particulate Filter Units (M87 and M59 models) used to control airflow and maintain positive pressure in field shelters during chemical and biological agent contamination. First Article Testing is required. The Government requests vendor input on business classification (including small business, 8(a), HUBZone, women-owned, and service-disabled veteran-owned status), prior government manufacturing experience, current production capability and location, FAT experience, production lead time, monthly production rates (minimum, normal, and maximum), unit pricing, quality management systems and certifications, and minimum Economic Order Quantity for viable proposals. Vendors are invited to recommend alternative procurement strategies such as refurbishment or modified commercial off-the-shelf solutions if quantities remain low.

The Technical Data Package carries distribution code C (DoD and DoD contractors only) and will be provided upon solicitation release only to vendors holding current DD 2345 certification and active Joint Certification Program registration. Responses are voluntary; the Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation or award a contract. Submit responses to George Campbell (george.l.campbell45.civ@army.mil) or Amy Dombrowski (amy.m.dombrowski.civ@army.mil).
