About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking contractors to provide rental and delivery of specialty hospital beds, surfaces, and equipment, including air fluidized therapy beds, for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center in Shreveport, LA. The resulting contract will be a firm-fixed price with a base period of one year and four one-year option periods. Key requirements include that the beds must meet all applicable safety and quality standards, deliveries must be completed within 6 hours of order, and the contractor must coordinate with the VA's Contracting Officer Representative on all delivery scheduling and equipment approvals.
This is an unrestricted procurement, meaning it is not set aside for any specific business size or socioeconomic category. The VA is interested in determining if a small business set-aside is appropriate based on the market research conducted. No potential incumbents were identified in the notice. The VA expects the total contract value to be significant but has not provided an estimated dollar range. The notice indicates the VA is seeking information on contractor capabilities rather than soliciting quotes or proposals at this time.
