About this opportunity
The Department of the Army Medical Command has issued a Special Notice for the procurement of Volumetric Diffusive Respirators (VDR) for Brooke Army Medical Center's ISR Respiratory Department. The notice, posted on May 7, 2025, with a due date of May 16, 2025, pertains to a planned Firm-Fixed-Price sole source contract with Sentec. The opportunity is classified under the Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing NAICS category (339112) and Medical and Surgical Instruments PSC category (6515). The contract involves the acquisition of eight VDR 4 systems with specific model and component specifications, including a Monitron II, Stand, and VGA.
The primary objective of this Special Notice is to allow potential contractors to submit capability statements, proposals, or quotations for consideration in future requirements. Contractors should note that the respirators must meet stringent clinical performance requirements, including high-frequency percussive ventilation, demand CPAP/PEEP, and specific operational capabilities such as controlling peak operating pressure and having a digital manometer. The systems must include patient safety features like alarms, be turbine-driven, eliminate the need for 50 psi medical air connection, and have an internal rechargeable battery. Eligibility appears open to all responsible sources, with the contract expected to be awarded on or about June 1, 2025. The medical equipment must be FDA certified or have 510K clearance, operate on 100-240V AC power, and be compatible with existing medical infrastructure.
