Specifically, the solicitation (N3239825Q0154) is seeking Biofire Defense products, including 1,000 units of Product Code 1769 and 6,000 units of Product Code 1768. The opportunity falls under NAICS category 325413 for In-Vitro Diagnostic Substance Manufacturing and is classified as an unrestricted contract. The solicitation was posted on February 22, 2025, with offers due by March 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM local time.
The purpose of this Special Notice is to acquire specialized diagnostic substances through a Firm-Fixed-Price contract using Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) funds. Contractors interested in participating must be prepared to meet specific delivery requirements, with materials to be delivered by April 8, 2025, and inspection conducted at the NMRC-Frederick location in Fort Detrick, MD. The contract will be awarded to the most advantageous responsible offeror, considering both price and other factors, using FAR Part 12 commercial item procedures. The total contract value is approximately $64,978.00, with BioFire Defense identified as the preferred vendor due to their unique qualifications and previous optimization efforts. Eligibility is open to all contractors, though the documentation suggests a strong preference for BioFire Defense based on their specialized reagent capabilities. The opportunity supports critical biological defense research and diagnostic capabilities for the Navy, Department of Defense, and other government agencies.
