About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command, specifically the 5th Contracting Squadron, is seeking a complete, commercially available Virtual Scenario Trainer (VST) system to enhance training capabilities for operations support. The VST must be an off-the-shelf solution requiring no additional development and capable of supporting multi-mission scenarios including convoy movements, facility recapture, and asset recovery. This Request for Information (RFI) solicits detailed information from potential vendors about their capabilities, with specific requirements including submission of NAICS codes, business size status, and Product Service Codes. Vendors are required to submit their responses via email to SSgt Tyler Buckley and MSgt Bryon Mordhorst by May 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM CDT. The evaluation will focus on vendors' qualifications, technical capabilities, and their ability to provide a comprehensive training system that meets the specified salient characteristics.
The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, meaning the opportunity is open to all businesses. The proposed system requires 26 virtual software subscriptions, 26 high-performance computers, a self-contained server, 26 headsets, and associated software licensing and training courses. While no specific award value is mentioned, the system is intended for the 91st Missile Operations Squadron and will support nuclear operations training in a standalone, locally networked environment. The system must enable detailed mission scenario creation, including terrain manipulation, vehicle and personnel positioning, and communication channel management. The 5th Communication Squadron will be responsible for approving hardware and software through the Authority to Operate (ATO) process, indicating a comprehensive technical review will be part of the procurement process.
