About this opportunity

The Department of State's Bureau of Medical Services seeks to procure virtual reality emergency training services through a software-based application with VR or AR capabilities. The contractor shall develop training modules on topics such as M.A.R.C.H. principles and low-complexity emergency scenarios for an initial pilot program involving ten countries. Proposals will be evaluated on technical approach, past performance, and price, with award by late 2023. Questions are due by August 7th and proposals by August 18th.

The solicitation is set aside for total small business and covers a base year and four option years. Training will be provided to approximately 25 individuals across 15 health units during the pilot program in English and Spanish, with additional languages to be added later. The place of performance is the contractor's facility. Estimated total contract value including options is $25,000 for labor and $0 for products depending on future requirements. Hardware must be delivered to pilot posts and up to 200 health units worldwide upon full implementation.

U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Medical Services (MED) is seeking a Contractor to provide a Virtual Reality Emergency Training (VRET) Program through a software-based application coupled with Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality (AR) capability that includes, but is not limited to, a visual screen or display, and state-of-the-art sound, eye or head motion-tracking sensors and/or cameras that will be utilized worldwide for emergency training management to meet the needs of the Diplomatic community. The VR/AR system prepares overseas nursing staff for embassy emergencies and triage care. A pilot program will be created and distributed to 10 countries around the. Upon successful completion of the pilot program, the VRET will be implemented in all Department of State Health Units (HUs).
