About this opportunity

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Northwestern Division - Seattle District, has issued a Special Notice for a Virtual Industry Day regarding the North Jetty Major Maintenance project located in Grays Harbor County, Washington. The event is designed to provide additional information and gather industry feedback on an upcoming construction contract to restore the damaged North Jetty. The project involves repairing sections of the jetty that have experienced significant wave overtopping, which has reduced the crest width and height. Specifically, the contract aims to repair up to 6,500 feet of the jetty trunk and root to elevation +23 feet MLLW and up to 1,000 feet of the jetty tail to +20 feet MLLW. The repair is estimated to require up to 111,100 tons of new armor stone placed over two work seasons.

The purpose of the Virtual Industry Day, scheduled for January 14, 2025, at 9:00 AM PDT, is to seek qualified and experienced sources capable of performing this complex maritime infrastructure repair project. Interested contractors must email their company name and Unique Entity ID (UEI) to the contract specialist Hien Ho and project manager Gabriell Fraser, referencing "Virtual Grays Harbor North Jetty Repair" in the subject line. Key project requirements include using land-based equipment exclusively, utilizing armor stone with a minimum density of 167 pounds per cubic foot, and placing two classes of armor stones ranging between 10-35 tons. The work is anticipated to begin in late 2025, with a potential total project duration of up to 42 months, depending on quarry sources and stone availability. Contractors should note that the procurement and staging of jetty armor stone will commence before the actual repair activities, and the project will be subject to specific in-water work windows and environmental considerations.
