About this file
This is an industry day presentation from the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Seattle District regarding solicitation W912DW25B0004 for major maintenance repairs to the Grays Harbor North Jetty in Washington state.
The project involves repairing up to 7,500 feet of damaged north jetty sections requiring 100-125k tons of new quarry stone. Work includes raising the crest height from +20 to +23 feet MLLW on the outer jetty (trunk & head), repairing the jetty root back to +23' MLLW, and reconstructing the inner jetty (tail) to +20' MLLW. Key specifications include land-based equipment only, minimum stone density of 167 lb/ft3, and armor stone sizes of 10-35 tons. The contract will be awarded in September 2025, with construction occurring in FY25-27 (Year 1 for rock procurement, Years 2-3 for jetty repair) and an in-water work window of July 16 - February 14, 2025. The agency is seeking feedback on classifying much of the work as Option Items and using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) versus Invitation for Bids procurement method. The total project may last up to 42 months depending on quarry sources, stone availability and funding.

- Jetty root last repaired in 2000. Repair back to +23’ MLLW and restore channel side sideslopes that have failed in areas.
- Inner jetty (tail) last repaired in 1942. Will raise to +20’ MLLW. Full cross-section reconstruction (filter, core, armor layers)
NORTH JETTY – MAJOR MAINTENANCE STATUS
- Environmental documents (ESA, NEPA, CWA, CZMA, Section 106) are being finalized
