About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division–Seattle District is conducting a virtual industry day on August 27, 2026, 12:00 PM–1:30 PM PDT to solicit industry feedback on an upcoming fire station construction project at Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington; registration closes at 12:30 PM PDT on August 27. The procurement is designated as a total small business set-aside and will employ a fixed-price contract structure utilizing the Integrated Design and Construction (IDaC) selection process, in which design and construction are contracted concurrently. The design contractor has already been identified; the Corps seeks to award the construction contract competitively early in project development. The virtual event will cover project history, major work features, constraints, challenges, and delivery methods, followed by live question-and-answer discussion with USACE personnel. Prime contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers may attend to learn about the project and provide input on best practices and lessons learned from similar past projects. Registration is free and available at https://washingtonapex.ecenterdirect.com/events/855516; additional scope-of-work details are available at https://sam.gov/opp/8e64f13c90d0422b8da4244c89ac3bf5/view.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division – Seattle District (NWS) is hosting a Virtual Industry Day on 27 August 2026 to provide additional information and gain feedback from industry on an upcoming requirement for a large military construction project for the construction of a Fire Station located at JBLM, Washington.
This event will allow prime contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to learn about this upcoming construction project. The event aims to seek industry input regarding best practices and examples of past success on similar projects. The event will include presenting the project history, a summary of major work features, constraints and challenges, and project delivery methods. A live question and answer session with USACE personnel will immediately follow the presentation.
The Government anticipates this procurement to be solicited as a small-business set-aside fixed-price type contract. In addition, the anticipated acquisition strategy is to utilize the Integrated Design and Construction (IDaC) selection process. “Integrated Design and Construction” means the construction contract type where design and construction are contracted concurrently through two efforts. Specific to this project, the design Contractor (i.e., architect-engineer) has already been identified. The proposed strategy permits an award of the construction contract early in the project’s development through a competitive process. The early construction contractor involvement enables the selected construction contractor to provide constructability and cost input to the Designer of Record as the design progresses, simultaneously performing.
The Government is seeking industry feedback on the IDaC strategy (e.g., past/present experience and/or similar commercial practice)! After registering you will receive a survey with Contractor Questions. Please take a moment to respond to the questions (Early Exchange of Information Questions.docx). Your responses will be shared with ACOE staff.
