About this opportunity
The 30th Contracting Squadron at the Department of the Air Force Space Command is conducting market research for an IT infrastructure upgrade at the Vandenberg Space Force Base SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) in Building 10577. The project involves removing legacy cabling and installing new communications infrastructure to support NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS networks across a 17,410 sq ft secure facility. Potential contractors must demonstrate expertise in secure IT infrastructure, with a focus on installing Cisco 9000 series switches, servers, workstations, and related equipment meeting DoD security requirements. The market research is classified under NAICS code 541519 for Computer Related Services, with a size standard of $34,000,000. Interested vendors are required to email Vince Mills and Robert Bumpass with company details, including CAGE code and small business status by January 31, 2025.
The procurement does not have a specific small business set-aside, but the government will only proceed if at least two qualified small businesses demonstrate capability to meet the contract requirements. The total project has an 18-month performance period, with work requiring TS/SCI clearance and mandating all contractors be U.S. citizens. Contractors must comply with ICD-705 standards and perform work during business hours with government escorts. The project includes a comprehensive warranty package, including a 2-year workmanship warranty and a 25-year warranty on fiber optic cabling. While no specific award value is mentioned, the NAICS size standard suggests the potential contract could be valued up to $34 million, with the scope covering comprehensive IT infrastructure replacement across multiple secure facility rooms and network systems.
