About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health, through the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), intends to procure a replacement ultraviolet transilluminator and chemiluminescence imaging system for the Liver Diseases Branch by August 6, 2026, with no anticipated set-aside.

The existing imaging system is inoperable and cannot be repaired. The equipment supports laboratory research activities studying liver diseases and viral infections at the Liver Diseases Branch, where it is used to visualize and document biological samples during routine experiments. The research underpinned by this equipment is federally funded and aims to identify potential treatments for viral infections. Loss of functional imaging capability will delay ongoing research activities and prevent proper analysis of experimental results.

The requirement is coded to NAICS 339999 (All Other Miscellaneous Manufacturing) and PSC 6515 (Medical And Surgical Instruments, Equipment, And Supplies). NIH serves as the requiring federal agency; NIDDK is the sponsoring organization.

A notice of intent document was posted July 28, 2026, but the file is not legible and contains no extractable procurement details regarding quantity, period of performance, budget, incumbent contractor, or industry engagement opportunities.
